Would you like to work at the heart of the global chemistry research community, helping to shape the journals where important science is published?

Do you enjoy building relationships that lead to successful, long-term partnerships?

About our Team

Our STMJ (Science, Technology, and Medical Journals) team publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research that drives progress across scientific and medical disciplines. We collaborate closely with authors, editors, reviewers, and societies to ensure the integrity and impact of the published work. Through innovation in editorial workflows and publishing technology, we help global research communities discover, evaluate, and disseminate knowledge that advances science and improves lives.

About the Role

As a Publisher, you will manage a portfolio of Chemistry journals covering Analytical and Physical Chemistry. You will work closely with leading researchers, editors, and academic stakeholders around the world, building trusted relationships that support journal success while driving strategic initiatives, innovation, and portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of journals, primarily within the field of analytical chemistry.

  • Take overall responsibility for the assigned journal portfolio.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external editors and academic stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with leading researchers, academics, and subject matter experts in the chemistry field.

  • Oversee journal-related publishing activities and ensure effective portfolio management.

  • Work within a global publishing team across regions including the UK, Netherlands, and China.

  • Utilize AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies as part of day-to-day work where appropriate.

  • Contribute as an individual contributor without direct people-management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing journals or a portfolio of academic journals is preferred.

  • Experience managing relationships with editors or external stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of how academic journals operate. Editorial experience would be advantageous.

  • Research experience, particularly within chemistry or analytical chemistry, would be considered valuable.

  • Candidates with journal management experience do not require strong chemistry subject matter expertise.

  • Candidates without journal management experience may still be considered if they possess chemistry or analytical chemistry expertise.

  • Ability to work effectively in a global, geographically distributed team.
