Public Health Practitioner, Prevention Gambling Harms

As part of this mission, we are looking for a passionate and skilled Public Health Practitioner to lead on Gambling Harms Prevention. This role sits within our Public Health team and will provide public health advice to support the strategic development of gambling harms prevention and ensure that programme deliverables are achieved. It contributes directly to the delivery of our organisations Public Health Strategic Plan, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Health and Wellbeing Strategy as well as Cambridgeshire County Council's Strategic Objectives. You will work across council departments and with external partners to design, implement and evaluate evidence-based public health programmes that support healthier lifestyles and reduce preventable illness.What will you be doing?

• Lead the local gambling harms prevention programme, turning national policy into local action.
• Build strong partnerships and promote a whole-system approach across services.
• Use data and lived experience to identify need, reduce inequalities, and target support
• Develop prevention initiatives and workforce training, ensuring equitable access to support.
• Manage funding, performance, and reporting to demonstrate impact and inform decisions.

  You will have:
• A degree in a relevant health or scientific discipline (Master's in Public Health or related subject desirable).
• Strong knowledge of public health theory, epidemiology, and behaviour change approaches.
• Experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating public health programmes.
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
• A proactive, analytical, and inclusive approach to problem-solving.
Experience in Prevention and Gambling Harms/Addiction related programmes is highly desirable.
