As a service, the Child is central to what we do as we strive to improve health outcomes for the children, young people and their families who live in our community. We deliver early intervention, health promotion and build therapeutic relationships to empower families, children and young people to make the best choices.

The Public Health Nurse role is an opportunity to work within the Healthy Child Service and then as opportunity arises onto applying for the Health Visitor/School Nursing training.

The Healthy Child Service prides itself on our supportive, skill mixed team. You will receive regular 1-1s, safeguarding, caseload and management supervision, shared team learning and annual appraisals.

You will partake in regular whole team meetings where we value the voices of staff as paramount in the innovation of our service., You will be working within the skill mix delivering the Healthy Child Service in a variety of settings, including home and community venues.

You will be working closely with partner agencies and voluntary services to ensure that the right support is given at the right time to children, young people and families.

You will be identifying need and delivering support in conjunction with the wider skill mix.

You will be working with children on the Universal to specialist pathways which includes safeguarding and be supporting the most vulnerable families.

You will be delivering evidenced based practice in line with the NMC code, with an expectation to maintain knowledge and skills as a part of your ongoing professional development.
