Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare or working on the Staff Bank within these organisations. Nursing and AHP vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses/AHPs. We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Senior Public Health Assistant to join our caring and progressive Health Visiting service. You will work closely with a range of colleagues within the Health Visiting team to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. Our health visiting service provides support to families (adults) with children aged zero to five. You'll be required to understand and identify healthy normal growth and development in children from 0-5 years which is monitored through Health and wellbeing reviews and promote completion of the Ages & Stages questionnaire, (ASQ. TM). You will have an understanding of child development and play and the importance of play in children's lives and learning, language development, special educational needs and disability. What will the role involve?
- Working with clients in a variety of community settings, for example, home, clinic, children's centre, educational establishment etc.
- Completing health and wellbeing reviews, packages of care
- Undertaking growth monitoring for children aged 0-5 years
- The delivery of health promotion activities
- Leading and assisting with the delivery of a variety of Health Visiting clinics and group work, for example, Parenting programmes, introducing solids and Breastfeeding groups.
- Attending and contributing to team meetings
- Building relationships with colleagues to enhance the team working environment This role is a community- based role so the majority of your duties will be carried out between your base and community settings or client homes.
