Full Job Description
The apprenticeship is suitable for junior level staff with no more than 3 years experience (as an analyst) who want to grow their career from a junior analyst position to a more senior role. It is not suitable for those who hold a public health degree or are educated to a Masters Degree level in a numerate/analytical discipline. Learners will need to have studied a statistical module at university or have a willingness to learn and ability to apply statistics in a project. 1 day per week of your working week will be set aside for participation in the apprenticeship and off-the-job learning. Here is a brief summary of what is included within the apprenticeship (a day per week): Introduction to Health and Social Care and Onboarding Training (c. 4 weeks) Professional Development of self andothers wishing to work in Health and Social Care Intelligence(c. 9 weeks) Leadership & Project Management (c.17 weeks) Research Methods, Study Design, Analysis andReporting Results (c. 31 weeks) Mock End-point assessment and Gateway Preparation (c. 7 weeks). Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential
- Degree in a relevant discipline or relevant experience to an equivalent Desirable
- Masters degree in a relevant discipline Experience Essential
- Experience of handling, analysing and manipulating large, complex datasets
- Experience in highly specialist application software and programming languages Desirable
- Experience of working with NHS datasets, and knowledge of the NHS data dictionary definitions, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to communicate complex issues in a simplified way
- The ability to act on own initiative and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent programming skills in SQL or equivalen Desirable
- Understanding of the workings of a Mental and Community Health provider organisation
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement Person Specification Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential

For 4 days per week at East London NHS Foundation Trust you'll be playing a key role in identifying and reducing health inequalities for the population we serve. You will do this by developing public health intelligence tools, including systems for data collection and quality assurance. Using this data, you will design and develop reports, dashboards and databases to utilise this information, with the aim of driving evidence-based decision making. Your work will help to improve population outcomes and reduce health inequalities in Mental Health and Community Health settings.
