Full Job Description

The Cambridge Festival shares the University's world-leading research with public audiences through an engaging programme of events and activities. Now entering its seventh year, the festival is seeking an individual with a passion for public engagement and educational outreach to support the planning and delivery of its family programme.
The successful post-holder will lead the development and delivery of the festival's family programme each Spring, while contributing to a range of year-round, University-wide public engagement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to engage audiences locally, nationally and internationally, shape new strands of activity, and support researchers across the University to connect with wider communities.
The role-holder will build and maintain strong relationships with key public engagement and informal learning partners, both within and beyond the University. They will provide guidance, coordination and training where appropriate, helping to ensure high-quality engagement activity across the festival programme.
Working closely with the Festival Manager and the wider Public Engagement Team, the post-holder will also support the wider delivery of the Cambridge Festival, including festival strategy, event logistics, non-family audience events, budgeting, evaluation, and health and safety procedures.
The position is based within the central Public Engagement Team in the Research Office at the University of Cambridge. The role requires regular on-site working (with core team in-person days on Tuesday and Thursday each week), alongside availability for evening and weekend work during Festival delivery periods.
We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working (min 80%) or other flexible working arrangements.
