Full Job Description
Recently graduated in Psychology and looking for experience that actually makes a difference?
Interested in behaviour, mental health, or child development and want to build hands-on experience before taking the next step in your career?
We're currently supporting a number of specialist SEN schools in Farnborough who are looking for compassionate and motivated Psychology graduates to join their teams as SEN Support Assistants from September.
This is a brilliant opportunity to gain practical experience working with children and young people who need additional support both inside and outside the classroom.
If you've never worked in education before, that's completely okay.
What matters most is your attitude, resilience, and ability to connect with young people. Many of the students you'll support benefit from calm, consistent adults who can build positive relationships and help them feel understood.
Full support, training, and guidance will be provided before and during your placement.
- Supporting students with additional needs including autism, ADHD, and SEMH
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning
- Encouraging communication, confidence, and independence
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and behaviour support
- Providing 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day
- Creating a positive and safe learning environment
This role gives you the chance to develop real-world experience linked closely to:
- Educational Psychology
- Clinical Psychology
- Counselling and Mental Health Support
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Teaching and SEN education
- Youth and pastoral work
You'll build transferable skills in communication, emotional regulation, behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice.
- Psychology graduates or students finishing their degree
- Interested in mental health and child development
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive
- Looking to gain meaningful experience before further training or study
- Passionate about helping young people succeed
- Full-time roles starting in September
- Weekly PAYE pay from £100 per day
- Opportunities to move into long-term or permanent positions
- Free CPD and training including:
- Safeguarding
- Behaviour management
- Autism awareness
- SEMH support
- Ongoing support from a dedicated team
- School visits and shadowing opportunities before starting
