Full Job Description

The Finding a Home Team is recruiting a Provider Relations and Individual Contracts Support Officer who will work closely with internal colleagues and external providers to find homes for Devon's children and young people who are in the care of the local authority. If you have excellent communication and organisational skills, can keep accurate records and are able to work with changing priorities and sometimes under pressure, then you could be successful in this role. You will be responsible for finding homes for children and young people and to assist you with this you will need to build strong relationships inside and outside the team, work methodically, and be solution focused. You will need to ensure value for money and be able to negotiate costs when necessary. You will develop a good understanding of the different home types for children in care, understand the challenges in securing homes and work with social workers and home providers to find solutions. Tenacity is important in this sometimes challenging but also rewarding role. This role is Monday to Friday working 9.00 -17.00 with a duty rota for extended working until 6pm when required. It is a 12 month fixed term contract and we are open to considering secondments. We can provide further information on this upon request.,
