About Contract Management and Partner Delivery Contract Management and Partner Delivery (CMPD) is responsible for managing DWP's multi-billion-pound contracts and grants with suppliers and local authorities delivering employment support, health assessments, and financial support to a range of citizens, including those who are disabled, have health conditions, are in long term unemployment or at risk of financial hardship. About Controls and Assurance Division Within CMPD, The Controls and Assurance Division is responsible for delivering effective and efficient controls and assurance for DWP's outsourced health assessment and employment support services. This work drives DWP's suppliers to deliver high-quality service delivery to millions of people in need of financial or employment support, whilst protecting the taxpayer. You will join Controls and Assurance Division's Provider Payment and Validation team. The team are responsible for: validating billions of pounds of cost claimed by DWP's contracted and grant-funded employment support suppliers; validating outcome claims by those suppliers; and processing referrals for the Government's new flagship supported employment programme, Connect to Work. As a Team Manager, your primary role will be to lead a growing team of Executive Officers responsible for validating the costs claimed by local authorities delivering Connect to Work and Get Britain Working Trailblazers. Validation entails reviewing evidence provided by local authorities to ensure costs claimed are accurate, valid and reasonable. There are currently 3 team members - the team will grow to 12 by the end of 2025. You will: oversee delivery of sample-based validation checks of over 40 local authorities' grant claims; manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders; report results, risks and insights to senior colleagues; and support your team to thrive.

  • Manage a team of Cost Validators, supporting and empowering them to deliver their best, including through fostering an engaging and inclusive environment and leading by example.
  • Oversee delivery of post-payment cost validation reviews of over 40 local authorities delivering grant-funded employment support, ensuring your team deliver quality reviews on time.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, working with them to ensure defined processes work for all parties.
  • Manage the timely and accurate production and analysis of management information to help inform decision making, resource planning and support continuous improvement activities in an ever-changing environment.
  • Identify priorities, risks and mitigations quickly and effectively ensuring robust contingency plans are in place.
  • Contribute to making the Controls and Assurance Division and DWP a great the wider Controls and Assurance Division on an ad-hoc basis.
