ROLE: Protection & Control Design Engineer HOURS: 40 hours per week LOCATION: Hybrid At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We're looking for a Protection & Control (P&C) Design Engineer who will support our high-voltage engineering team and contribute to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our clients' electrical networks. Role Responsibilities:
- Design, specification, and configuration of protection and control systems for HV and EHV substations.
- Ensure adherence to protection philosophies and project requirements.
- Check and approve design deliverables from internal teams and manufacturers.
- Produce technical documents, reports, settings, and specifications.
- Lead development of P&C schemes up to 400 kV including SLDs, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and schedules. Required Qualifications:
- Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
- Demonstrable experience designing HV/EHV protection systems (11 kV-400 kV).
- Experience with numerical relays (Siemens, GE, ABB, SEL).
- Knowledge of IEC 61850, CT/VT characteristics, and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with ENA, IEC, and DNO/TSO standards. What's in it for you?
