Full Job Description
In this role, you will lead and support a diverse range of projects that improve services, enhance patient outcomes and deliver sustainable change in line with NHS Constitutional Standards. You will work closely with clinicians, operational teams, information colleagues and partners across the Care Group and Trust to support improvements across the full patient pathway.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, takes ownership and has the drive to turn ideas into action and see projects through to completion. You will be comfortable working independently, using your initiative to overcome challenges and maintain momentum, while bringing people together to achieve shared goals.
A key part of the role is ensuring programmes of work are robustly managed, tracked and monitored, with risks and issues clearly identified, communicated and mitigated. You will produce clear, concise reports to update key stakeholders and support informed decision-making.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the post holder are to:
Provide quality improvement skills and capacity to the Surgical Services Care Group.
Plan, lead, support and track a diverse range of projects, programmes and efficiency schemes to help teams deliver improved quality and efficiency.
Play a role in the promotion of quality improvement methodology in the Care Group and contribute significantly to a growing culture of continuous improvement.
Support sustainable improvement in the Care Group incorporating capability building into projects and programmes.
Evaluate improvement projects and share successes and learning across the Care Group and Trust, as required.
Take responsibility for planning and prioritising your own workload to meet deadlines with complex and conflicting priorities.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of eighteen (18) months due to the post being recruited as part of a limited term project within the Trust. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the requirement for the post to be maintained as a part of the project's implementation and the timescales associated with this.
Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
