Full Job Description
A full-time (37 hours) Project Worker role in an accommodation-based support service in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, providing housing-related support to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness., This is a Project Worker role based in our Supported accommodation service in Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent. We have a team of Scheme Support officers, Lead Project Workers, Project Workers and, Accommodation Coordinator providing 24/7 Support to our diverse group of customers. Working in a team, you will provide support to vulnerable individuals and help them to develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability, promote resettlement into the community and achieve positive progression. You will provide housing-related support to equip our customers with the knowledge, skills and tools that they need to be able to live independent lives. Your day will consist of:
- Engaging and interacting with the people we support
- Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
- Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
- Liaising with external agencies
- Supporting with external appointments to GPs and job centres
- Organising and participating in activities and day trips
- Dealing with any conflict that arises
- Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have
Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people are essential. - A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people's lives
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
- Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
