Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our South Projects team and play a key role in the delivery of lowland peat restoration, river restoration and / or habitat creation projects. As a member of our busy, dynamic team, you lead on the delivery of individual projects, from inception through to design, implementation and post-project monitoring. The role will require working closely with reserves teams, farmers and external specialists where required to deliver positive outcomes for biodiversity, water resources and climate resilience.
We'd love to hear from you if you have experience of working in river restoration, peat restoration or land management projects and have field survey and GIS skills. You will enjoy a mix of being outdoors in all weathers and desk-based work such as mapping and report writing. You'll be proficient in IT and should have the ability to communicate with enthusiasm, tact and diplomacy, both in writing and verbally. We have a variety of projects and workstreams underway at once so organisation, a common-sense approach to problem solving and the ability to respond to changing circumstances at short notice are essential for success in this role.
A full driving licence will be essential for travelling to remote locations.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK's fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a Project Officer., We want our people to flourish, just like nature, and so we are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities. We value diversity and creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential.
We are also a member of the Disability Confident Scheme. This means we are committed to offering an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the post. Where a post is oversubscribed (i.e. there are more candidates meeting the minimum criteria than we can offer interviews to), we will carefully balance inviting a mix of the highest scoring disabled and non-disabled applicants.
