Reporting to the project leadership team, the role plays a significant part in the successful delivery of healthcare construction projects across the full project lifecycle, ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with organisational and client objectives. The role requires coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and effective stakeholder management is essential to ensure projects are delivered to plan in operational healthcare environments and active clinical services. The successful candidate will have receptibilities in project disciplines that include risk management, feasibility and condition surveys, business case development, contract management, technical advice and value engineering. They will provide clear project reporting to committees and key stakeholders throughout the delivery process. Candidates should possess notable experience in healthcare construction projects and a degree in a related discipline. The role requires excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, strong commercial awareness, and a sound understanding of construction procurement methodologies and standard forms of contract. Main duties of the job Lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital projects across Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and external clients, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, including feasibility, business case development, procurement, design, construction, financial management, risk management and post-project evaluation. Work collaboratively with clinicians, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders to develop project solutions that meet service requirements while minimising disruption to patient care. Provide professional and technical advice, present business cases and project updates, and ensure compliance with NHS guidance, statutory legislation and organisational governance. Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure and performance, oversee multidisciplinary project teams and consultants, and maintain effective governance and reporting arrangements. Contribute to the Trust's Estates Masterplan and capital programme, promote continuous improvement, and role model compassionate, inclusive leadership to deliver high-quality healthcare environments., Work as one of a number Project Managers employed by NHFM/ the Advisory service that are essential for the successful delivery of minor and major capital projects.Responsibilities will include the development of the Project Brief, Project Cost, Project Structure, Project Plan, Governance and Controls Assurance, Procurement Process, Communications strategy, Negotiations.Ensure capital project business cases are developed and approved through the Trust Business Case process. All significant schemes are required to utilise the Five Case ModelDelivery of projects will include the preparation and coordination of the business cases process. This will require presentation of business cases to a wide variety of technical and managerial committees.The role will engage with stakeholders from across the NHFM, the Trust and external Clients to ensure the successful delivery of capital projects.Provide professional and technical, high quality, cost effective, informed and timely advice that enables sound investment decisions and approvals to be made.To manage and monitor the capital approved schemes expenditure levels and progress for all designated projects as part of the capital programme.To participate in the Trusts development groups/Programme Boards on a site-by-site basis and present worked up feasibility schemes and cost plans for selection where necessary.To project manage Trust schemes, either in house or through the appointment of outside consultants.To ensure design staff and consultants provide up-to-date and as built accurate estate record drawings.To participate with other teams within NHFM to provide information for all mandatory Estate returns, and as key stakeholders in project delivery.To appoint and attend meetings with consultants and outside bodies working on Trust and external Client schemes or potential schemes, maintaining accurate records of discussions and progress as required.To ensure Post Project Evaluation of schemes are prepared and lessons learned on future schemes.To ensure all delegated projects follow the NHFM PM Manual and PMO reporting process ensuring alignment with approved project governance arrangements.Postholders must have a valid UK driving licence and own form of transport. - BSc Hons Degree in related discipline with at least significant post-graduation experience OR substantial experience in a Construction/ Consultancy Project Management or Commercial Management role, The post holder must have a highly developed range of specialist knowledge in the following aspects of project management: Strategic project planning, cost control, change and risk management, programming/scheduling and design.
