Full Job Description
In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex IT and digital transformation projects, ensuring successful outcomes for our clients while maintaining strong governance, commercial awareness and delivery excellence. Combining traditional project management disciplines with agile methodologies, you will take ownership of project performance, manage risks and dependencies, and empower multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
As part of our growing Project Management Capability team, you will have the autonomy to shape delivery strategies, introduce new ideas and champion continuous improvement. You'll work closely with clients, senior stakeholders and agile teams, providing clear direction, removing obstacles and fostering a collaborative environment where people can thrive. You'll also contribute to capability development, mentor colleagues and support CGI's continued growth across the private sector, with opportunities to develop your own leadership and delivery expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead & Deliver: Manage IT and digital transformation projects throughout the full lifecycle, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, budgets and quality standards.
- Drive Agile Delivery: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives, while promoting agile best practices.
- Manage Risk & Governance: Identify and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and CGI governance standards.
- Engage & Influence: Build trusted relationships with clients, product owners and senior stakeholders, communicating progress, managing expectations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Optimise & Innovate: Champion continuous improvement, challenge existing approaches and introduce effective delivery practices that enhance project outcomes.
- Empower & Develop: Lead and coach multidisciplinary teams, support junior Scrum Masters and encourage a culture of collaboration, accountability and shared success.
- Support Commercial Success: Manage project budgets, forecasting and financial performance while contributing to business development opportunities and proposals.
To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience managing complex IT or digital transformation projects, alongside a strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies and project governance. You'll be a confident, collaborative leader who can balance delivery accountability with empowering teams, navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive continuous improvement. Your commercial awareness, problem-solving skills and ability to build trusted relationships will be key to delivering successful outcomes for our clients.
Essential skills and experience:
- Project Management Experience: Proven experience as a Project Manager, Agile Project Manager, Delivery Manager or Scrum Master delivering complex IT or digital transformation projects.
- Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban or SAFe, with practical experience applying agile principles and facilitating Scrum ceremonies.
- End-to-End Delivery: Demonstrable ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, dependencies and quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience engaging clients, senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Financial & Commercial Awareness: Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, delivery governance and contractual commitments.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead, coach and support high-performing teams while encouraging accountability and continuous improvement.
- Problem Solving & Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve delivery challenges and maintain project momentum.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM or equivalent).
- PRINCE2, MSP or AgilePM certification.
- Experience working within consulting or client-facing delivery environments.
- Working knowledge of Jira or similar agile project management tools.
- Understanding of DevOps, cloud technologies or modern software engineering practices.
