Full Job Description
Supporting and strengthening our team in Hitachi Energy UK, this Project Manager role involves the installation of Plug and Switch System (PASS) switchgear. You will be responsible for managing the entire project, which will include representing Hitachi Energy's commercial and contractual interests and managing all stakeholders (internal & external) through negotiations in line with FIDIC, NEC 3/NEC 4.
This role, in our Service Business, is ideally suited for someone who has a proven track record in the execution of End user facing projects in the Transmission and distribution market with customers including National Grid, SSE and Scottish Power.

How you'll make an impact
Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for multiple, concurrent, and complex projects, adhering to Hitachi's project management methodologies and standards with responsibility for projects ranging from £250k-£2M.
Facilitate clear and concise communication with all project stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external partners, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and achievements.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and guidelines.
Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are completed within financial targets.
Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
Effective warranty communication across Business Units, manufacturing facilities, and customers necessitates proactive coordination in parts management, timely execution of deliverables, diligent budget oversight, and efficient recovery of factory costs.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science desired.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
Proven planning and forecasting experience using Primavera P6 .
Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, SAP, Pimavera 6)
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
