Our client, a Civil Engineering highway maintenance contractor operating across the UK, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage a variety of Civil Engineering Highways Schemes. You will be working across the East Sussex and Kent areas, reporting to the Regional Director and managing site teams consisting of Agents, Sub Agents, Engineers, Foremen, and Sub Contractors.

The ideal candidate:

• Must have extensive experience of operating at PM level on civil engineering schemes


• Previous experience of Highways/Roads and Design Reactive and planned Maintenance


• Degree qualified and able to manage a project team

Responsibilities:

• To profitably complete projects in accordance with the clients' specifications and to ensure client satisfaction


• Plan resources and ensure any shortfalls or over-re sourcing issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner


• Coordinate and manage any interface with other parts of the division


• Ensure all personnel within your control, including subcontractors, work in accordance with the company policies, are trained, competent, and aware, and work safely


• Jointly prepare project Cost Value Reports & Contract Status Reports with commercial staff


• Liaison with estimating to provide value engineering expertise, lessons learned, etc., to allow the division to submit quality, competitive tenders to clients


• Deliver project schemes profitably and on time to enhance company reputation and generate further business


• Assist in recognising new client targets and developing an approach to target with the Commercial Manager
