Through our specialist energy business, VolkerEnergy, we're playing a key role in strengthening the nation's electricity transmission network. As our portfolio of major National Grid transmission and substation projects continues to grow, we're looking for a Project Manager to deliver a National Grid substation project.
As the driving force behind project success, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams through every stage of the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning and final handover. You'll build strong relationships with National Grid and key stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and with strong commercial performance.
About you
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Significant Project Manager or senior leadership experience on major infrastructure, utilities or energy projects.
- Strong experience managing safety, programme delivery, commercial performance and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent NEC3/NEC4 contract management knowledge.
- SMSTS and an appropriate CSCS/EUSR management card.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence clients, partners and senior project teams.
Highly desirable experience includes:
- Delivery of high-voltage transmission or substation projects.
- National Grid project experience.
- Professional qualifications such as APM PMQ/PPQ, ChPP, CEng, MICE or MCIOB.
- Experience with commissioning, energisation readiness and outage-led programmes.
- Managing major civil, electrical EPC or principal contractor interfaces.
