Full Job Description
As one of the Project Manager's, you'll play a key role in maintaining visibility across the programme, ensuring workstreams remain connected, informed and focused on delivery. Working across organisational boundaries, you'll help translate programme priorities into coordinated action across Suffolk's councils. Your role and responsibilities You'll work across several LGR workstreams, acting as the link between workstream leads and the Programme Management Office (PMO). You'll help ensure activity remains coordinated, connected and focused on delivery, while providing visibility of progress, risks, milestones and dependencies across a fast-paced and complex programme. You will:
- Coordinate and monitor multiple LGR workstreams simultaneously.
- Work with workstream leads and theme sponsors to maintain clear plans, milestones, risks and dependencies.
- Ensure workstreams understand how their activity contributes to the wider programme roadmap.
- Identify and escalate risks, issues and barriers early, acting as the eyes and ears of the PMO.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and programme information.
- Support workstream leads to meet reporting requirements and programme deadlines.
- Build strong relationships across organisational boundaries and support delivery at pace.
- Help ensure workstreams remain connected, informed and focused on programme priorities., A supporting statement (maximum 500 words) outlining what you would bring to the Suffolk LGR Programme and how your approach would help you succeed in a complex, multi-organisational environment.
- Case studies (maximum 250 words each) (up to three examples, maximum 250 words each) demonstrating where you have managed or maintained oversight of multiple projects or workstreams within a complex programme. Please include the scale and complexity of the work, your role and contribution and the outcomes achieved.
We're looking for an experienced project manager who can work confidently across organisational boundaries, maintain oversight of complex activity and bring people together around shared objectives. We hope you'll bring: - Strong project management experience, ideally within organisational change, transformation or public sector programmes.
- Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills and the ability to maintain visibility across competing priorities.
- A strong understanding of governance, risk management, dependencies, milestone planning and reporting.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and the confidence to challenge constructively where required.
- A good understanding of local government and the complexities of working across organisational boundaries.
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Resilience, initiative and a proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work at pace in an evolving environment.
- A commitment to delivering positive outcomes for Suffolk's residents and communities, recognising how individual workstreams contribute to the wider success of the programme.
