Full Job Description

In this Project Manager role, you will drive the successful delivery of technology projects to support the continued growth and evolution of the global Education business. You will manage across one or more projects focused on digital products and enabling systems to deliver business outcomes, aligning project benefits and deliverables to Education and Technology strategy and goals. You will be responsible for the high-quality delivery of project outcomes through stakeholder management, delivery optimisation, and assurance, delivering projects successfully in a risk-aware and managed way; and for delivering projects to time, cost, and quality, with clear and effective governance and decision-making frameworks in place. Duties of the role will include:

  • Lead the delivery of projects to drive significant benefit to the Education business, with responsibility for day-to-day management of projects.
  • Define and oversee project governance and facilitate two-way communication with colleagues at all levels.
  • Apply a structured Project Management methodology, ensuring delivery of projects to time, cost, quality, and scope. Be responsible for applying project controls and meeting regular reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate and align plans with internal teams or external third parties. Make sure that that projects are properly resourced, working with OUP teams and third parties to assign resources to projects and resolve any gaps.
  • Ensure that budget investments allocated to the project are used effectively to deliver business outcomes.
  • Work with project stakeholders to set clear priorities and manage project impacts.
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies requiring solutions and recommendations, and manage them to successful resolution.
  • Ensure that learnings are tracked and shared to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop strong and collaborative relationships, building confidence and trust with internal and external stakeholders.

    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Strong background and understanding of project management and end-to-end delivery models for change initiatives within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile/SAFe, APM) and governance.
  • Ability to identify, track and concisely define internal and external dependencies across project and BAU teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to build collaborative relationships whilst holding to account and having challenging conversations.
  • Strong financial management and benefits realisation experience.
  • Good communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
