Project Engineering Manager

As a Project Engineering Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will lead the multi-disciplinary technical design and delivery of complex engineering projects across their full lifecycle, from concept through to in-service support and disposal. This is a rare opportunity to combine hands-on engineering expertise with people leadership. You will manage and develop a team of engineers, act as the technical authority for your projects, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners. Day-to-day you'll be required to:

• Leading and managing the engineering function across allocated projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality
• Acting as the technical point of contact for internal teams, customers and suppliers
• Ensuring engineering compliance with legal, regulatory and safety requirements
• Coaching, mentoring and developing engineers to build capability and performance
• Identifying and managing technical risks, dependencies and design trade-offs
The role is based onsite at Walsall, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.


• System-level engineering experience with vehicle integration
• Defining requirements, specifications and system architecture
• Designing for manufacturability, cost, weight and reliability
• Understanding testing, validation and homologation processes
• Proven team and people management experience, We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. You will need to demonstrate:
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis (8D, A3, Ishikawa, 5-Why)
• Knowledge of automotive systems (powertrain, chassis, body, E/E, ADAS, thermal, or interiors)
• Knowledge of CAD/CAE tools and engineering documentation
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
