We are looking to hire a Project Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Wokingham, the Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering structural monitoring projects from concept through to installation and commissioning. Act as the technical link between the client, engineering, and delivery teams. You take ownership of technical scope, coordinate across functions, and ensure systems are built, tested, and installed to the required standard. This role suits someone hands-on, well organised, and comfortable managing multiple live projects at different stages. You stay close to the detail while keeping delivery on track.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
Project DeliverySupport delivery of multiple projects at the same time, across design, build, test, and installation phasesWork with Project Managers to meet schedule, budget, and technical requirementsTrack engineering deliverables, risks, and changes through the project lifecycleTake full ownership of smaller projects where required
Technical CoordinationAct as the main technical interface between client, engineering teams, procurement, and productionTranslate client requirements into clear engineering scope and deliverablesEnsure alignment between mechanical, electrical, systems, and software disciplinesResolve technical queries quickly to maintain project progress
Client InterfaceLead technical discussions with clients during design, delivery, and installation phasesRespond to client queries and provide clear technical explanationsAttend client meetings and site visits as requiredBuild strong working relationships to support successful delivery
Engineering & IntegrationWork closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet client and project requirementsSupport system integration across hardware and software componentsProvide hands-on support and troubleshooting during build and test phases
Procurement & Production InterfaceWork with procurement to define technical specifications and manage supplier inputsSupport production during system assembly and buildEnsure materials and components meet project requirements and timelines
Testing Plan and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT / SFAT)Take an active, hands-on role during testing and fault findingEnsure all actions are closed prior to deployment
Installation & CommissioningAttend site or offshore locations to support installation and commissioningOversee installation activities to ensure systems are set up correctlyWork with offshore teams, subcontractors, and clients on siteSupport system commissioning and initial performance validation
Documentation & ControlWork closely with document control to ensure all project documents are issued, tracked, and submitted on timeMaintain accurate and up to date project documentation in line with company processesEnsure document revisions, approvals, and client submissions are managed correctlySupport project close-out documentation and deliverables

EssentialDegree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or similarExperience in a project or engineering delivery environmentStrong understanding of electrical and mechanical systemsAbility to read drawings, schematics, and technical specificationsExperience with system testing and integration activitiesFamiliar with project tracking tools and structured delivery processesHands-on and practical, comfortable working with equipment and systemsHighly organised, able to manage multiple priorities at onceStrong problem solver who stays calm under pressureClear communicator with both clients and internal teamsTakes ownership and drives work through to completionWorks well across disciplines and levels within the business
DesirableExperience in offshore energy, oil and gas, or renewablesKnowledge of communications protocols, sensors, and data systemsHands-on experience with diagnostic tools and system troubleshooting
