Full Job Description

As a Project Development Manager, you will manage a portfolio of projects and be responsible for the delivery of all pre-construction project development activities for your portfolio. This includes design, cost and programme related activities as well as ensuring a smooth handover of the project to our project construction teams in our Infrastructure Delivery department. You will lead a team of Project Development Engineers to deliver your portfolio. Your portfolio will range from High Voltage substation extensions to developing new substations to enable new connections to the electricity transmission system. What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of Project Development Engineers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous growth.
  • Manage the development of projects through the project lifecycle up to handover to the construction teams. Ensure that the designs, costs and programmes for the projects across your portfolio are robust and can be delivered without significant change in the construction phase.
  • Appropriately monitor, manage and drive the performance of your portfolio. This includes setting your budget, accurate financial forecasting, ensuring there is a funding and contracting strategy in place across the portfolio, portfolio risk identification and management and providing relevant insights to the construction teams to ensure successful handover and delivery of the project.
  • Engage tenaciously with internal and external stakeholders that will influence the delivery of your portfolio.
  • Provide strategic portfolio reporting to leadership, covering financial forecasting, milestone tracking, funding strategies, governance, and risk management., This is a leadership role we are looking for who can inspire and empower our people for great performance and will find a better way to do things.     You'll have a background in project management/engineering and have project development or construction experience whether it be in utilities or a related field and are familiar with NEC contracts. You will have a degree or qualification in project management, engineering, or equivalent experience.

    A competitive salary of £69,000 - £78,000 depending on experience As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
