Full Job Description
An opportunity to support major digital transformation and help keep complex projects running smoothly across the council. As a Project Co-ordinator within the Digital, Data and Technology Projects Team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of digital and technology change across North Tyneside. This role is central to how we organise, coordinate and govern our digital projects, ensuring work is well planned, well communicated and delivered to a high standard. You will provide high quality and responsive project and programme support, working closely with project managers, business analysts, service teams, suppliers and elected members. Your work will help ensure projects are well governed, clearly documented and supported throughout their lifecycle. You will support the council's digital transformation by:
- Maintaining high quality project and programme documentation, including minutes, action logs, risk and issue logs.
- Organising and supporting project boards and meetings, including scheduling, preparing papers, drafting briefings and taking minutes.
- Supporting communication, engagement and marketing activity for digital initiatives, including digital maturity activity and business case development.
- Supporting financial processes, including ordering, invoice processing, budget tracking and preparation of grant claim information.
- Contributing to project delivery standards, ways of working and Agile practices within digital services.
- Undertaking research into emerging technology, project management and business analysis techniques to support continuous improvement. You will work across the organisation and with external partners, building effective working relationships and supporting clear communication between stakeholders. You will also support engagement with elected members on behalf of digital services, helping ensure they are informed and supported throughout project delivery. This is a role suited to someone who is organised, proactive and confident working in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on accuracy, communication and collaboration. You will be comfortable juggling multiple priorities and supporting several projects at different stages of delivery.
You will bring experience of providing effective project or programme support, with strong organisational and communication skills. You will be confident preparing documentation, supporting meetings, managing logs and responding professionally to enquiries. Experience of procurement processes, ordering and invoice handling is important. Experience of working in a local authority or public sector environment is beneficial but not essential. Experience of working with elected members is desirable. We welcome applicants who are keen to develop their skills, embrace new ways of working and contribute to high quality digital delivery.

Declaring a reasonable adjustment will not subject you to any form of discrimination when determining which applicants are successful for interview and employment with us. Our Carbon Net-Zero 2030 Action Plan In 2019, North Tyneside Council declared a climate emergency. This declaration set a target to reduce the carbon footprint of the council's operations, and the borough, by 50% by 2023 and to align to the Government's net zero target of 2050. We recognise the significant role we can play in the borough in helping to limit climate change, but we can't do this alone; we need help from all our residents, businesses, voluntary and community sectors and of course all those who apply and work for us. Together we can make North Tyneside a sustainable place to live and work for everyone in the borough.
