Full Job Description

National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit, Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health, Level 2 New Radcliffe House, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to provide leadership and project management expertise for PRiSMM, a major programme with the potential to transform care for pregnant women.
This is a varied and influential role, suited to someone with significant experience managing complex, multi-site programmes, ideally in healthcare, medical research or quality improvement. You will coordinate four substantial work packages, oversee day-to-day programme delivery, support participating sites across England, and ensure the study is conducted in line with regulatory, ethical and governance requirements.
Working closely with the Programme Leads, Chief Investigator, research team, funders, sponsors, lived experience leads and hospital sites, you will help ensure milestones are met, risks are managed, and high-quality systems and procedures are in place. You will also contribute to regulatory and ethics submissions, site set-up, budget monitoring, reporting, SOP development, stakeholder liaison and, where needed, line management.
The successful candidate will bring proven project management skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, and a strong understanding of research governance, ethics, regulatory approvals and data protection. You will be highly organised, analytical and confident working both independently and as part of a busy multidisciplinary team.
Experience of patient and public involvement, maternal or perinatal health, and managing applications through IRAS or DARS would be advantageous.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of an ambitious national research programme with direct relevance to maternity care and clinical practice.
Applications for flexible working arrangements are welcomed and will be considered in line with business needs.
The position is fixed term until 31 August 2030 in the first instance. This appointment is part-time (0.8 FTE).
You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application.
