Full Job Description

This is an exciting new position in the Faculty of Law which will support the successful delivery of the Professional Development Portfolio of Programmes. The postholder will work with the Professional Development Operations Manager ('PDP Operations Manager') and the Director of Professional Development Programmes ('Director'). Professional Development activity has expanded in recent years, in support of the Law Faculty's overarching mission and strategy, and the postholder will help implement plans for the establishment of a sustainable, research-led Professional Development Programme area.
The postholder will ensure that the scheduling of courses for the Professional Development Programmes course portfolio is accurate; assist the PDP Operations Manager with the drawing up or contracts for all of the course; work as a first point of contact for business clients, participants and tutors; prepare and update the content of promotional and other publicity material; prepare marketing plans to successfully recruit participants for all open and online programmes; manage the marketing budgets to deliver against agreed targets; control orders for goods and services, raising sales invoices, costing and pricing exercises, and ensuring adherence to departmental tendering and purchasing procedures.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of planning and delivering courses, events, or professional development programmes, including scheduling, logistics, and stakeholder coordination; evidence of developing and delivering marketing and communications activities to recruit participants; ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. A demonstrable understanding of the Higher Education sector and some understanding of the legal sector would be an advantage. Previous experience of using digital design applications such as Adobe InDesign and/or Canva for creating brochures and marketing materials is desirable.
