Full Job Description

As a Production Planner Supervisor, you are responsible for leading and supervising the production planning function. This role oversees a team of planners and coordinators responsible for developing and executing integrated production plans that support customer delivery commitments, operational efficiency, inventory objectives and program execution requirements.,

  • Oversees the development and execution of integrated production schedules supporting multiple programs, product lines, or manufacturing operations.
  • Monitors schedule adherence and operational performance.
  • Ensures alignment between customer demand, MPS, MRP and production execution activities.
  • Leads daily production review meetings, schedule review and escalation activities. Partners with Operations, Program Management, Engineering, Procurement and Supply Chain leadership to coordinate production execution strategies.
  • Leads short-and-long-range capacity planning activities. Drives inventory optimisation strategies while minimising shortages, excess inventory and obsolescence exposure.
  • Supports supplier collaboration and material flow improvement initiatives.
  • Leads development and execution of integrated production schedules across multiple program product families or manufacturing operations.
  • Leads CI initiatives focused on planning processes, scheduling accuracy, ERP/MRP optimisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensures planning processes comply with company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitors and reports operational KPIs and planning performance metrics.
  • Analyses operational performance trends and implements corrective actions to improve results.
  • Provides planning forecasts, operational updates and reporting to management.

    Significant experience in complex production planning and/or master scheduling.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment (nuclear, defence or aerospace manufacturing environment desirable)
  • Strong computer user, proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio are necessary)
  • Advanced understanding of ERP/MRP systems (inc. working with BoMs, inventory, WIP and manufacturing routings)
  • Expertise in data analysis, operational reporting and capacity planning.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and CI methodologies.
  • Must be methodical and organised and approach all tasks in a systematic, process-orientated manner at a high level of detail
  • Highly motivated to succeed, with the ability to manage / influence others, as required, in order to positively influence their performance and achieve targets
  • Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills are essential with the ability to juggle various tasks
