The role
As a Production Hub Lead, you'll can play your part as a Production Hub Lead at Devonport, near Plymouth, Devon. Drawing on your leadership and engineering expertise, you will help shape the future of the UK's submarine programme while developing a new capability that will have a lasting impact on operational performance and efficiency.
Day-to-day, you'll play a key role in supporting the submarine programme by bringing pipe and reactor fitter resources together into a central production hub. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop your own team, drive innovation, improve productivity, and influence how critical engineering work is delivered across the business. Your leadership will directly contribute to national defence capabilities while creating opportunities for your own professional growth and development.
- Leading the daily operation of the production hub to ensure skilled resources are deployed effectively to support programme delivery.
- Chairing planning and look-ahead meetings with stakeholders to establish priorities and maintain delivery schedules.
- Collaborating with production and capability teams to develop workforce competence, skills and succession planning.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, productivity, efficiency and cost performance.
- Building strong relationships with project teams and production managers, providing regular updates and managing resource priorities.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Production Hub Lead
- Experience leading or managing teams with varying levels of technical experience.
- Experience within a mechanical engineering, manufacturing, production or maintenance environment.
- Proven ability to coordinate resources and prioritise work to meet operational objectives.
- Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across a complex organisation.
- Demonstrable success in driving performance improvements and developing people.
Qualifications for the Production Hub Lead
- Essential: HNC qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
- Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1.
- Desirable: Additional leadership, management or engineering qualifications.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
