Full Job Description

As a Production Delivery Manager, you'll lead the delivery of all engineering and production activity for NDM Oiapoque (formerly HMS Bulwark), supporting the Brazilian Navy as part of a major international warship support programme. This role offers the rare opportunity to oversee a high-profile vessel's ongoing operational capability, performance and maintenance, work that directly contributes to global defence and maritime security. Day-to-day, you'll shape operational planning, manage a diverse team of UK and Brazilian engineers, and play a key role in a growing, collaborative partnership.

  • Manage all planned maintenance, defect rectification and capability upgrade activity delivered by Babcock and subcontractors.
  • Act as Deputy Project Manager, leading and line-managing Supportability Engineers and a Machinery Health Engineer. Coordinate all Babcock UK personnel deployed to Brazil, ensuring safe, high-quality engineering delivery.
  • Lead the development of upgrade solutions, including design review engagement and external SME coordination.
  • Oversee test, trials and acceptance activities in line with contractual requirements.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to key stakeholders within the Brazilian Navy
  • This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    Essential experience of the Production Delivery Manager
  • Extensive experience in landing platform dock warship support, including operating strategies and systems.
  • Strong background in delivering capability upgrades, maintenance planning and through-life support.
  • Deep understanding of engineering processes, compliance standards and safe working practices.
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes, build strong relationships and solve complex problems.
  • Effective communicator with strong MS Office skills, with desirable experience in the Royal Navy or a comparable defence organisation., Experience within an engineering or technical environment, with an HND in a mechanical or electrical discipline and an understanding of naval or commercial ship systems., The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
