Full Job Description

  • Engage stakeholders through gaining critical input to understand priorities and dependencies.
  • Create the value stream road map and vision for business area based on business and IT requirements.
  • Gather input, own and manage the backlog and prioritises these in a clear roadmap, in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Work with business teams to define the proposition & proposal behind the features - document respective assumptions and suggest a scope for the minimal viable proposition (MVP).
  • Lead ongoing refinement effort to make sure each team has work prepared for the next sprint, ahead of existing sprint delivery. Adjust scope where necessary based on sprints outputs.
  • Work closely with Solutions Architect to align product and the technical vision.
  • Ensure technical complexity is taken into account for backlog prioritisation alongside business value.
  • Agree and track key metrics with stakeholders to measure output and delivery results against objectives.

    Analytical with confident IT literacy and PC skills.
  • Project management experience of IT related change/delivery within logistics.
  • Strong team player who uses initiative and diplomacy when liaising with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of agile working practices - desirable.
  • Strong influencing and facilitation skills.
  • Strong networking and team working ability across all work levels.
  • Able to build, engage, lead and deliver using robust project methodology

  • As a Product Owner at Screwfix, you'll own a critical part of our eCommerce journey, the checkout experience across web and app, with a strong focus on the underlying basket and promotions ecosystem that powers it. You won't just manage a backlog, you'll define the vision, set the direction and work closely with cross-functional teams to bring it to life. This is a role where pace matters. You'll be balancing business priorities, technical complexity and customer value, making smart decisions that keep things moving while delivering meaningful impact. We're looking for someone who can operate comfortably across both back end and front end, with a stronger leaning towards the technical and data side of the product. This is a 12 month fixed term contract position. What's in it for you?
