Simone Rocha is hiring an experienced Product Developer/Garment Technician to become part of our RTW Development and Technical team. Based at the studio, this position involves close collaboration with Design and Production teams from initial concept through to production approval. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in garment construction, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring every piece meets the brand's aesthetic and quality of finish. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow our critical path and key team deadlines to ensure deadlines are met, flagging any issues to relevant teams.
  • Create product specs for all allocated styles including construction comments, BOM, technical drawings and comprehensive fit, quality, and construction feedback.
  • Monitor collections from initial handover through to production approval, ensuring that sample tracker and specs for allocated styles are updated and informing relevant teams of any updates.
  • Engage problem solving skills to find innovative solutions to achieve design vision.
  • Advise on factory capabilities and appropriate finishes during the development of new styles.
  • Work closely with Design, Pattern Cutting and Production teams to prepare accurate and fully resolved factory sampling packs.
  • Track production fittings of allocated SMS and PPS samples.
  • Liaise with team members to schedule and prepare for production fittings ensuring that all allocated samples have been measured/reviewed, model measurements are taken and sample images are taken.
  • During fittings advise on garment measures, identify fit and construction amendments, document detailed fit notes and ensure there is consistency across product and size range.
  • Liaise with Development Team on priorities and deadlines, co-ordinating completion of sample amendments and required mock-ups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with inhouse machinists, utilising their input on construction techniques.
  • Process quality feedback from stores and clients and implement improvement/resolutions.
  • Create and update standards manuals
  • Support factories and in-house machinists, ensuring any queries are answered in a clear and timely manner.

    Minimum 5-8 years of PD/garment tech experience within the womenswear luxury market is essential
  • Excellent technical understanding of the luxury market
  • Excellent Adobe skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing
  • Excellent understanding of patterns, garment construction and fit
  • Basic knowledge of Gerber Accumark is desirable
  • Basic grading knowledge and understanding of grade charts is desirable
  • Must be a problem solver, ability to find innovative solutions in line with creative vision
  • Accustomed to working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities
  • Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload
  • A team player with great interpersonal skills
