The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer, who will work with our Procurement Manager, to undertake a wide variety of procurement activity across SHG. You will contribute to the delivery of our Mission and Aims, where the customer is at the heart of everything we do.

You will have a sound understanding of the public procurement requirements, and how these affect SHG. You will be able to develop and deliver procurement projects and get key stakeholders on board, working together in a collaborative way. This will require great organisational, project management and influencing skills!
We are looking for someone who can spot opportunities for change and make things happen. Our ideal candidate will:
- Be an effective communicator and collaborator
- Be a great problem solver
- Be able to work both independently and in a team
- Have great analytical skills, and
- Be able to successfully manage a varied, complex workload.
Ready to take on this exciting challenge? We can't wait to hear from you!
This is a full-time position (37 hours over 5 days) but if you would like to discuss an alternate working pattern, then please let us know as part of your application. We are open to supporting people to work in a way that suits their own work / life balance and other commitments you may have.
As this is a hybrid role, the successful candidate will be expected to attend the office for a minimum of two days per week. Please include confirmation in your supporting statement that this working pattern is suitable for you.
At Stockport Homes Group we are passionate about transforming our customers' lives and believe this is achieved through a highly engaged workforce. Alongside managing homes across Stockport, we have grown and diversified our services through our Group structure and now have close to 700 colleagues.
Our modern office is a bright, positive working environment with great collaborative working spaces. We also value hybrid working arrangements and you will have the opportunity to shape and agree how you work between office and home to suit both your own and the business needs.
The SHG "Be You" approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG's Values. We're always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.
We understand that if you don't meet every requirement, you may be hesitant to apply but we still want to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application detailing your experiences, achievements, and the value you can bring to our team.
