Full Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys owning the whole procurement lifecycle. Operating with a high degree of autonomy you will play a key role in supporting Acivico's commercial and governance objectives, providing expert advice, managing procurement activity from start to finish and helping colleagues achieve successful outcomes. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Acivico's procurement priorities, applying expertise to ensure that procurement initiatives are conducted efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and Acivico's Procurement Policy. Success will be measured against organisational compliance and value metrics as well as service level standards to colleagues, internal departments and other stakeholders.

You are an experienced procurement professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach. You are equally comfortable advising colleagues on complex procurement matters, developing policies and procedures, and managing the day-to-day delivery of procurement exercises from planning through to contract award. You will have a strong understanding of public sector procurement legislation and be confident applying procurement principles in a pragmatic way that supports organisational objectives whilst ensuring compliance and value for money. Working with colleagues across the business, you will provide expert procurement advice, help manage commercial risk and support procurement activity across a diverse range of services and projects. You will be able to build positive working relationships, communicate complex issues clearly and provide constructive challenge where required. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage a varied workload and take ownership of procurement activity from start to finish. You will be comfortable developing tender and contract documentation, supporting evaluation processes, maintaining procurement records and contributing to the ongoing development of procurement governance and best practice. Experience of procurement within the construction, built environment or infrastructure sectors would be beneficial, particularly in relation to works, consultancy or construction-related service contracts. However, we welcome applications from procurement professionals from other sectors who can demonstrate strong public sector procurement expertise and the ability to apply their skills across a diverse portfolio of procurement activity. You will ideally have:

  • A recognised procurement qualification, such as MCIPS, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience of delivering public sector procurement exercises and contract awards.
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and its practical application.
  • Experience of framework agreements and other compliant routes to market.
  • Experience of developing procurement documentation, policies and guidance.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Most importantly, you will be a trusted and approachable professional who can provide clear, practical advice and help colleagues achieve successful procurement outcomes.
