Procurement Manager

Are you ready to shape how Southern procures the goods and services that keep our railway moving?We're seeking a Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team, based at our Head Office in London Bridge (hybrid working - 3 days on site).As Southern continues its journey towards Great British Railways, this role sits at the heart of our commercial operations, ensuring procurement activity delivers value, supports operational performance and remains compliant with the Procurement Act and Utilities Contracts Regulations. Can you move people? What you'll do In this role you will deliver compliant, commercially focused procurement activity across a diverse range of direct spend categories. You'll lead end-to-end tendering activity, supporting functions including Engineering, Infrastructure, Operations, Commercial, Communications, HR and Finance, ensuring procurements deliver value, efficiency and strong contractual outcomes. You'll work closely with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies, business cases and project pipelines, whilst providing expert advice on procurement processes, governance and contract management. Working alongside contract managers, finance colleagues and suppliers, you'll negotiate contracts, support supplier performance and identify opportunities for savings, supply chain efficiencies and social value improvements. This is a role for someone who can balance commercial awareness with regulatory compliance, build strong relationships across the business, and manage multiple procurement projects with confidence. The experience you'll need

• Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) - or equivalent transferrable degree or professional qualification.
• Experience of working in an accountable role in either a procurement, commercial or contract management environment.
• Working knowledge of contract law, government legislation and OJEU regulations.
• Comprehensive understanding and experience of procure to pay (P2P) systems and processes.
• Some experience of contract management (i.e. post contract).
• Good understanding of contractual documentation and governance requirements.
• Good understand of e-tendering systems/tools.
• Good stakeholder management skills and experience.
• Proficient experience of supply chain planning and producing associated reports.
• E-tendering tools experience and knowledge.
