The Housing Management Service has recently been reviewed and as a forward thinking organisation, we are eager to adapt to the changes in the way our residents want to access our housing services. Housing is a critical priority for us at Hackney. Ensuring the very highest standards of housing management across our 30,000 council homes is paramount. As a Council with a strong track record of improvement, the return of our ALMO some twenty months ago provided us with the opportunity to set a new vision, purpose and pace for Housing The Procurement Coordinator is a key role within the Property and Asset Management team responsible for supporting multi-million pound procurement projects from inception to completion. You will be covering the whole of Property services, including Property and Asset Management, Building Maintenance and Building Safety. As a Procurement Coordinator, you will provide critical support to the Procurement Category Manager and officers in managing a comprehensive pipeline of procurement activities. Your primary focus will be ensuring that all contracts are executed on schedule while strictly adhering to internal governance protocols and the Procurement Act 2023. While prior experience within the property, housing, or construction sectors is advantageous, familiarity with the Building Regulations 2010 and the Building Safety Act 2022 is highly desirable for this position. Working in liaison with the Procurement Category Manager and Procurement officers, support is provided through:
- the provision of advice on the Council's procurement processes and best practice,
- project management of the procurement work-stream,
- sourcing providers for various requirements
- Co-ordination of procurement activities and procurement reporting, To organise and deliver all work on time and to the agreed quality standards.
- To ensure all work undertaken is compliant with Council policies and practice, and statutory requirements.
- To consistently apply the Council's Human Resource Standards and Equality Standards. To promote equality of opportunity and collaborative working as appropriate across the Council.

WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE - Experience of planning, managing and monitoring programmes of work.
- Experience of producing contracts and service agreements, ideally within a local authority context
- Experience of making presentations to a wider audience, including members and senior managers.
- Experience of using IT based systems to support decision-making QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. MCIPS) and/or appropriate professional experience (desirable).
- Candidates having good relevant procurement experience but without the academic qualification will be considered.
