About Tax Reporting The UK Tax Reporting team manages HMRC and IRS reporting, tax compliance, and risk oversight across ISAs, Workplace and Retail Pensions, General Investment Accounts (GIAs), FATCA/CRS, and other regulatory reporting obligations. The team also ensures accurate client tax reporting through Annual Tax Vouchers and other required tax certifications. About your role The purpose of this role is to support the Senior Manager, UK Tax Reporting, in the effective management and delivery of the team's regulatory and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day tax reporting activities, ensuring the accurate production, review and submission of UK tax reporting obligations and associated regulatory returns. The role requires developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of UK tax reporting processes, controls and regulatory requirements, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives, change programmes and business projects with tax reporting implications. Responsibilities will also include delivering training and knowledge-sharing across the team, maintaining Management Information (MI) and performing and documenting quality assurance checks, identifying risks and control weaknesses, and collaborating with stakeholders to investigate issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. About you The role holder will be expected to drive operational excellence, promote a strong control environment and support the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant tax reporting outcomes for both clients and regulators.
- Ensure accurate tax reporting, reconciliations and client communication through strong attention to detail and deliver error-free reporting to HMRC.
- Support the UK Tax Reporting Senior Manager and UK Operational Tax team in the investigation, escalation and resolution of tax-related issues.
- Lead UK tax reporting obligations, including ISA, LISA, Retail and Workplace Pensions Annual Return of Information and ISA annual statistical returns. Other Interest reporting (T18) and SIPP Relief at source, ISA (Reit and PAIF's) and LISA tax reclaims.
- Oversee the accuracy and timely delivery of Client Tax Certificates, including Annual Tax Vouchers and Monthly Tax Vouchers etc.
- Working with Technology, Operations, and Control & Reconciliation teams to maintain the accuracy of tax and income data and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
- Support ISA voids and repairs process, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Support FATCA and CRS reporting for GIA and Workplace Investing businesses, ensuring accurate submissions to HMRC.
- Provide tax reporting SME support for projects, business change initiatives and new product launches.
- Assess the operational, resource, and system impact of tax regulatory changes and new tax reporting requirements.
- Support Brokerage USI, CDI, and US Withholding Tax reporting obligations to the IRS.
- Liaise with HMRC on client tax reporting matters and regulatory queries.
- Investigate and resolve client tax reporting queries, providing technical guidance where required.
- Maintain and enhance tax reporting procedures, governance frameworks, and operational documentation.
Relevant experience within financial services, with a strong understanding of operational, regulatory and client service environments. - LEAN Six Sigma, FA2 and CF1 qualifications desirable, or willingness to pursue professional qualifications.
- Experience in operations management, including process oversight, controls, risk management and service delivery.
- Strong knowledge of HMRC tax reporting requirements and the application of tax legislation.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
- Results focused, with a strong commitment to customer outcomes, compliance and risk management.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations and complex spreadsheet modelling.
