We are seeking a dedicated Principal Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care service. This role is pivotal in ensuring we provide high-quality social work services to adults and the community of Herefordshire, reflecting our commitment to ethical standards and social responsibility. As a Principal Social Worker, you will lead a team of experienced professionals, offering guidance and support to ensure the best outcomes for our residents. We are a stable, well run and established unitary council, proud to be the local authority for one of England's most beautiful counties. The location for this role is Plough Lane Offices, Hereford. It is expected that you can split your time between the office for two days a week and working remotely. What will you be doing? As the Principal Social Worker in Adult Social Care, you will work with Team Managers, Social Care staff and Heads of Service as well as the Service Director and DASS to manage resources and performance. You will also:
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and practice models.
- Provide training to social workers to support professional development.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multi-agency partners.
- Work and represent adult social care at our safeguarding adult's board.
- Lead adult social care safeguarding and support the development of the safeguarding team at Herefordshire Council.
As the Principal Social Worker, you will be: - Degree level qualified in Social Work or related field with Social Work England registration
- Able to demonstrable expertise and significant record of achievement in adult social care
