The Principal Enforcement and Monitoring Officer (Team Leader) role is an exciting opportunity to join the County Planning, Minerals and Waste team and oversee the enforcement and monitoring of mineral and waste planning permissions. The postholder has responsibility for the day to day operation and delivery of the monitoring, enforcement and regulation of mineral and waste sites in the Cambridgeshire, ensuring that development is managed effectively and supports the growth and economy of the County., The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional and technical advice to discharge the Council's responsibilities associated with the enforcement and monitoring of minerals and waste planning applications. As well as handling a complex and varied case load of enforcement investigations, you will be required to manage, oversee and undertake the monitoring of mineral and waste development throughout the County of Cambridgeshire., Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, along with our employee network 'IDEAL' and self-organised peer support groups help us to foster an inclusive, supportive and safe working environment where people feel valued, respected, and empowered. As a Principal Officer, you will have significant planning enforcement experience, highly developed communication, negotiation and record keeping skills along with the ability to deal with a variety of customers and complaints. You will be experienced in conducting professional planning enforcement investigations and have the ability to pursue breaches of planning control through to successful resolution, attending Committee, Court and appeal hearings as required. The post would be ideal for an experienced planning enforcement professional looking to expand their knowledge and experience into the area of Mineral and Waste Planning so that they can upskill in advance of local government reorganisation.
