An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a large and established team within the Paediatric Psychosocial Service within the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH), part of Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust (MFT) CAMHS.

The Paediatric Psychosocial Services are well regarded in the Trust and close relationships exist within our colleagues in paediatric (an indeed adult) medical specialities. The Service also sits within a wider CAMHS Division and within the Acute Trust, so is well supported and connected with other Children's Mental Health Services in Manchester, Salford and Trafford.

We are keen to promote innovative practice, as well as specialist psychological assessment and intervention. Across the service we work with hospital inpatients and outpatients, with face-to-face as well as online/virtual modalities. We offer patient groups, consultation groups and psychosocial forums with other medical specialties, we actively contribute to the wider Trust Schwartz Round programme and support a range of therapeutic intervention modalities, including neuropsychology, family therapy, ACT, CFT, Narrative, CBT, psychotherapeutic approaches and parent-infant work. We are a committed research service with our team contributing to a wide range of research projects and host some of our own too.

We are a friendly, caring team who want to make a difference and would love to hear from you if this post is of interest., As a Principal Clinical Psychologist with substantial senior clinical experience and post-qualification training, the post-holder will work alongside other senior staff to provide leadership to ensure the systematic delivery of a high-quality and highly specialist psychosocial service for children and families across four specialties at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital: Endocrine, Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD), Urology and Renal.

The post holder would have a lead role for clinical psychology provision across these areas, and responsibility for ensuring specialist psychological assessments, direct and indirect therapeutic interventions, and clinical audit and research evaluations. The post holder will require a strong working knowledge of governance systems within the NHS and be confident working autonomously within professional guidelines.

To use the highest quality of psychological evidence and clinical accountability to inform and enable best practice. To undertake the supervision and clinical evaluation of Specialist Clinical Psychologist and doctoral Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
