Full Job Description

We are seeking to employ a compassionate leader and manager to collaborate in the development of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Early Help services in Gwynedd and Mon alongside established managerial and operational structure. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinician to build on established preventative and early intervention approaches, with the aim of improving emotional wellbeing and mental health outcomes for babies, infants, children, young people and families and carers.

Working strategically across health, education, social care and third sector you will collaborate in leading service transformation aligned with BCUHB andWelsh Government priorities ensuring that the 0-18 year population receive timely, accessible and compassionate support. The Early Help services are influenced by NEST framework (mental health and wellbeing): introduction | GOV.WALESFramework on embedding a whole-school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing | GOV.WALES and Health and Care Quality Standards 2023 (WHC/2023/013) | GOV.WALES

Main duties of the job

This is a new key service development and leadership role and will be pivotal in supervising, training, and coaching the CAMH Early Help Practitioners to promote practice-based research and enquiry to develop the service and practitioner's knowledge and skills.

Working alongside West Strategic and Operational Lead for CAMHS Early Help, this role will support CAMH Early Help including supporting schools and communities by utilising highly specialised research skills for audit, policy and service development. They will contribute to the development of local policies and procedures and their implementation, to support ongoing improvements in service quality. The post holder will also have highly specialised clinical skills which they will draw upon to supervise their Early Help colleagues. The role will also include involvement in regional and national service developments linked to West CAMHS Early Help. This post will extend its reach to work alongside internal and external stakeholders to provide consultation to further promote mental health within schools and communities.

This post will entail traveling throughout the region.The ability to speak Welsh is essential to this post.
