Full Job Description

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate teacher who will lead a small group of children with complex SEND needs. Each child will have an EHCP and we want to ensure that every learner receives personalised, meaningful support. In this role you will take responsibility for planning and preparing tailored activities that are closely aligned with pupils' individual targets, developmental needs, and learning pathways.

You'll be joining us at Oasis, a large established Trust of 55 Academies but we're MORE than a MAT. We're here to support our communities and to address those barriers to education for our students.

By joining us at Short Heath, you'll be joining a Good and oversubscribed Academy where "staff enjoy working in a close-knit team and know their workload and well-being are always considered by leaders." Ofsted 2024 This is something we're really proud of and hope shows our commitment to our staff. As part of your development you'll be ably supported with excellent training and professional development opportunities to progress your career & develop your expertise.

We believe we offer opportunities that others don't have. This role is a great example of this. SEND specialist but looking for something different? Then this could be a great role for you. This is a role that will make a real difference to our students lives.

Want to make a difference whilst being supported by colleagues? Then we'd love to hear from you.

As a highly supportive, relational academy, inclusion sits at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to nurturing staff as much as students. For the right candidate, there is also the potential for a TLR/SEN allowance recognising the expertise and/or leadership you can bring to this vital role.

About Short Heath Academy

You'll be joining an Academy where relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We do not have a large turnover of staff at Oasis Academy Short Heath and this is a reflection of this.

We're very proud of our students who are always central to every decision we make. We strive to provide opportunities for our families to work in partnership with us and run a variety of events throughout the year.

"Pupils work together very well in lessons. They display very positive attitudes to their learning and the subjects they study." Ofsted 2024.

We have great facilities at Short Heath including our own allotments, a polytunnel and Forest School. We'd encourage you to come across and have a look and details for this are further below!

What will you get in return?

- Salary MPS 1-6 or UPS 1-3 + SEN allowance / TLR for the right experienced candidate

- Continued professional development & training

- Wider Oasis Community Learning benefits portal including health & dental cover & discounts at leading companies

- An opportunity to really make a difference to our students and families lives.
