Full Job Description
The postholder will plan and deliver a personalised, alternative curriculum focusing on early years/KS1 outcomes, adapted for secondary aged students. They will work closely with the SENDCO, Teaching staff, external agencies, and the study support team to ensure the students' needs are met through high-quality lessons. The role requires an experienced primary school trained teacher with SEND knowledge and experience to use a range of multi-sensory, play based and structured approaches to teach a small group of students with varying needs. Our well-established Study Support Faculty works collaboratively with teachers across the curriculum to support the delivery of carefully sequenced, thoughtfully planned lessons that are underpinned by current research and high-quality teaching and learning strategies. The Study Support staff work tirelessly to ensure that all SEND students are supported to achieve their full potential across the curriculum. For students who are unable to access our mainstream curriculum there is a comprehensive and bespoke Nurture curriculum in place which is taught by subject specialists. Building on this further, creating a bespoke curriculum for a targeted group of students who are working significantly below their peers and have a diagnosis of Autism.
