Primary Care Diabetes Specialist Nurse

In partnership with Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, West Kent Primary Care (WKPC) has established a community diabetes service as part of an integrated community diabetes service for West Kent residents. WKPC would like to recruit a Diabetic Specialist Nurse or Primary Care Nurse with a specialist interest in diabetes to join our team. The post holder will have sound knowledge of diabetes and a willingness to undertake the non-medical prescribing course within 12 months of commencement in post and demonstrate a drive to continued learning. We are looking for between 30 and 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)., The service operates clinics in local GP practices across West Kent. The clinics are run by the diabetes specialist nursing team who work in collaboration with practice nurses, supporting them to develop additional skills and competences to manage diabetes patients more independently. The team is led by a Lead Nurse who supports the team with ongoing clinical supervision and professional development. The team is supported by an external lead nurse Consultant who is renowned nationally in the field of diabetes who provides professional development as needed by the team.,
