Full Job Description
- Experienced healthcare professional combined with excellent staff managerial skills who will support the Deputy Head of Healthcare (Primary Care Lead) to manage and develop the Primary Care Team to achieve a targeted and appropriate service, delivered in accordance with evidence-based practice and local policies and procedures.
- Expected to proactively manage and lead the Primary Care Team to further develop services such as long-term conditions management; nurse led minor ailment clinics and immunisation programmes.
- Expected to demonstrate a professional manner which is tolerant, courteous and calm in the full course of their duties, in relation to dealing with colleagues, visitors and with Prisoners. They will be able to effectively deal with demanding patients in a professional, nonreactive manner and defuse potentially volatile situations to avoid escalation.
- Expected to demonstrate a full and proactive commitment to equal opportunities in accordance with local and national policies.
- Expected to continually promote high standards of service within the Primary Care team, to effectively manage poor performance and contribute to development of a culture of professionalism within the team.
- Work closely with the Deputy Head of Healthcare (Primary Care Lead) and other Healthcare managers to develop and implement an effective Primary Care Strategy for HMP Woodhill.
