Pride in Place Coordinator

We are seeking an exceptional Pride in Place Coordinator to help strengthen community identity and drive meaningful change in two priority neighbourhoods. This dynamic role supports the delivery of the government-backed Pride in Place initiative, bringing residents, partners, and local stakeholders together to shape improvements that truly reflect local priorities. You will provide vital governance support to Neighbourhood Boards, lead inclusive community engagement (particularly with seldom-heard groups), and coordinate projects that enhance local areas, from high street and environmental improvements to community-led events. We are looking for a motivated and community-focused individual with strong experience in bringing people together and delivering positive local change. You will have a solid background in community development, ideally at least two years, using approaches such as Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to mobilise residents and volunteers. You will be confident engaging with diverse and seldom-heard communities and skilled at facilitating inclusive conversations, workshops, and digital engagement.

To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience in project development and management, with the ability to balance competing priorities, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and navigate differing community interests. Strong communication skills are essential: you will write clearly and persuasively, present with confidence, and build effective relationships with residents, businesses, councillors, MPs, and council teams.

You will be highly organised, capable of planning ahead, coordinating multiple workstreams, and producing accurate briefings, reports, and monitoring information, including submissions required by central government. Knowledge of local government, community governance frameworks, and the Equality Act 2010 will support your ability to operate effectively.

You will need to be enthusiastic, adaptable and resilient, someone who works collaboratively, takes initiative, and is committed to supporting communities to have a meaningful voice in shaping their neighbourhood. A willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to attend community meetings and events is essential, along with the drive to help deliver lasting, resident-led change.
