Full Job Description
As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our pricing strategy from the ground up. You'll have the opportunity to influence key commercial decisions, build innovative pricing models and help create products that deliver real value to pet owners. What makes this opportunity different? Access to one of the richest pet care data ecosystems in the UK. Working alongside colleagues across our veterinary and wider Pets at Home businesses, you'll be able to leverage unique data assets and customer insights that most insurers simply don't have access to, enabling smarter pricing decisions and a deeper understanding of pet health and customer behaviour. About the Role Reporting into the Pricing Director, you'll use advanced analytics, statistical modelling and market insight to optimise pricing performance across our portfolio. Working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Commercial and Data teams, you'll help balance growth, customer value and long-term profitability. Location: Remote working, with some requirement to travel to the Insurance Support Office (location tbc) and Pets at Home Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire) as required. Attendance at other national meetings, as required. You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and enhancing risk, demand, retention and pricing models
- Identifying opportunities to improve conversion, retention and portfolio profitability
- Analysing large and complex datasets to uncover actionable commercial insights
- Monitoring portfolio performance, competitor activity and market trends
- Building and validating statistical and machine learning models
- Supporting new product development and pricing initiatives
- Presenting recommendations and insights to senior stakeholders and governance forums
- Helping shape pricing governance, controls and best practice as we continue to grow
We're looking for an experienced pricing professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial curiosity and the confidence to influence decision-making. You'll bring: - Proven pricing experience within the UK insurance market
- Strong understanding of pricing, portfolio management and commercial performance metrics
- Experience building and deploying statistical and predictive models
- Advanced analytical skills and experience working with large datasets
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or R
- The ability to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment Pet insurance experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
- Join at the very start of a new pet insurance business and help shape its future direction
- Make a genuine impact, with visibility and influence across the organisation
- Work with unique pet care and veterinary data assets unavailable to most insurers
- Enjoy the support, stability and investment of the Pets at Home Group, while benefiting from the pace and opportunity of a start-up environment
- Be part of a passionate team focused on delivering better outcomes for pets, pet owners and the business If you're excited by the opportunity to build, influence and innovate within a growing insurance business backed by one of the UK's most loved pet care brands, we'd love to hear from you. Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
