Full Job Description
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Prescription Clerk to join our team. If you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good time management and can prioritise work appropriately in a pressurised environment, we would like to hear from you!, To contribute to the administrative work in the Practice Prescription Hub; ensuring all prescription requests are actioned promptly, and to ensure prescriptions are administered within the designated timescale, assist in Pharmacy team clinic booking to maximise capacity and contribute to coverage of the Practice urgent line., To contribute to the administrative work in the Practice Prescription Hub; ensuring all prescription requests are actioned promptly, and to ensure prescriptions are administered within the designated timescale. - Work experience in a customer facing role
- Experience in a fast paced/busy working environment, Experience of working within a primary care setting
- Previous history of working within a prescription focused environment, NVQ in Customer Service or equivalent, IT knowledge
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Understanding of confidentiality, Knowledge of clinical systems in healthcare
- Knowledge of prescription process
- Medication and prescription terminology, Identifying errors and problem-solving
- Prioritising workload and identifying urgent tasks
- Ability to work under pressure on time sensitive tasks
- Able to work as part of a team and individually
- Adaptable in process changes
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy, Confidential handling of patient information
- Prescription checking and verification
- Reading and interpreting prescriptions
Portsdown Group Practice covers the whole of Portsmouth from postcodes PO1 to PO7. We operate from 6 surgeries: Cosham Park House (PO6 3BG), Crookhorn Lane (PO7 5XP, Heyward Road (PO4 0DY), Kingston Crescent (PO2 8AL), Paulsgrove (PO6 4HJ), and Somerstown (PO5 4EZ). We are our own Primary Care Network (PCN). We have Clinical Partners, Salaried GPs and a comprehensive Nursing and extended clinical team overseen by our Clinical Team Manager. The team consists of Nurse / Paramedic Practitioners, Registered Nurses, HCAs, MSK Physiotherapists, Podiatrist, Social Prescribers and Care Co-ordinators. The Pharmacy team consists of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
