Prescribing Clerk

The Prescribing Clerk plays a key role in supporting the safe and efficient management of repeat prescribing and medication administration within the GP practice. As the practice exclusively provides care for patients living in nursing and residential homes, the role requires close liaison with care home staff, community pharmacies, and the clinical team to ensure timely prescription processing, accurate medication records, and continuity of care for a complex and vulnerable patient population., The role involves liaising with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacies, as well as maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient information. Additionally, the Prescription Clerk may assist with administrative tasks such as handling prescription inquiries and coordinating medication orders.

The candidate must demonstrate interpersonal skills when dealing with all levels of staff across the practice and BGPA using persuasion, tact and reassurance where necessary.

Handle confidential patient material in a sensitive and discrete fashion in compliance with Bromley GP Alliance policy and procedure.

Liaise with other departments and members of the Bromley GP Alliance and other organisations to ensure the smooth running of the office and to assisting the functioning of the team.
