Job Description


Zero2Five are delighted to be working with a high-quality, independent day nursery in Hither Green, who are looking for a passionate and experienced Level 3 Room Leader to join their team and lead their Preschool Room. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years professional looking to lead a room, inspire and support a team, and make a real difference to children's learning, development and wellbeing.



What We're Looking For



  • Level 3 Childcare qualification (essential)

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an early years setting

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children

  • Passion for children's learning and development

  • Confident, organised and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team



Room Leader Responsibilities



  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Preschool Room

  • Lead and support the room team, creating a positive and welcoming environment

  • Plan and deliver fun, engaging activities that support children's learning and development

  • Embed the EYFS into everyday practice

  • Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and families

  • Complete observations, assessments and next steps

  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment

  • Support children's independence, confidence and school readiness

  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers

  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety procedures are followed

  • Support and guide staff within the room

  • Work closely with management to maintain high standards

  • Attend training and contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery
