Full Job Description
Onyx Matcha Club is looking for a passionate and organised Prep Chef/Baker to join our team in Knightsbridge.You will be responsible for creating and preparing our selection of delicious house-baked goods and nutritious, plant-based treats. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients and takes pride in producing food that looks beautiful, tastes exceptional and remains consistent every day.,
- Prepare fresh, house-baked goods, pastries, granola and other plant-based treats.
- Follow Onyx Matcha Club recipes, preparation methods and presentation standards.
- Support the development of creative, nutritious and seasonal menu items.
- Complete daily food preparation and batch production efficiently.
- Ensure consistent portion sizes, taste, texture and presentation.
- Clearly label, date and safely store all prepared products.
- Follow food-safety, hygiene and allergen procedures at all times.
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
- Follow FIFO stock rotation and help minimise food waste.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and preparation area.
- Work closely with the wider café team to ensure products are prepared and available on time.
We are looking for someone who: - Has previous experience in food preparation, baking or a similar kitchen role.
- Is passionate about baking, wholesome ingredients and plant-based food.
- Can follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent standards.
- Has excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Understands food hygiene, allergen awareness and safe food handling.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Has a creative eye and takes pride in the appearance of every product. A Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate is desirable, although training may be provided.
